In future, Forschungszentrum Jülich intends to concentrate on use-inspired basic research and will combine and expand all its scientific activities in the strategic priorities of information and energy. Furthermore, the strategic pioneering topic of bioeconomy will be reinforced and further developed.
In the strategic priority of information, interaction between the fields of neuroscience, research on the basic principles of future information technologies, and supercomputing will help to shape the beginning of a new era. In these fields, Jülich intends to develop new interrelations, promoting problem-related collaboration, and generating an interdisciplinary integration of information research.
In the field of energy, Forschungszentrum Jülich will make significant contributions to the success of the German transformation of the energy sector, expanding its scientific research in renewable energies and storage technologies, and adding its system competences.
